Upcoming Activities
Monthly Club Meetings are held at the Marshall W. Alworth Planetarium the second Wednesday of the month at 8:00 PM, and the public is invited to attend. Prior to the meeting, an AAS member will host the 7:00 PM weekly planetarium show. During the warm months, around the time of first quarter moon, AAS will usually hold a public telescope viewing session on either Friday or Saturday. Please read below for details of upcoming events:
AAS will host a public telescope observing session at the Marshall W. Alworth Planetarium following the 7:00 PM show on Friday, February 24th. AAS members will have telescopes set up on the sidewalk outside the planetarium starting at 8:00 PM. Telescope observing will be cancelled if cloudy.
AAS will be at the Hartley Nature Center on February 25th for the Winter Star Astronomy Program. This event will be held whether it is clear or cloudy. AAS members will be giving presentations on the night sky, and if clear, telescopes will be set up for viewing. AAS member Jim Donovan will present the MWA Planetarium show on "The Timeline of Time" at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 14th. AAS monthly meeting follows at 8:00 PM, with Jim Schaff giving the monthly member presentation on "Telescope Motions."
